Why Watermelon seeds are good for you … ?

We all know and love pumpkin seeds which are everywhere! We’ve know completely adopted them and we all have some in our cupboards. However, who’s heard about watermelon seeds? Not so many of us right? Trust us, they are so good for you that you should get them asap 🙂

Yes, we know, when eating fresh watermelon, the seeds are really annoying and we try to throw them away to enjoy the red flesh without those crispy little seeds in our mouth. But here’s what you’re missing out by not eating them: like pumpkin seeds, they are loaded with lots of nutrients our bodies would love to get!

- First, proteins. Yes, proteins are everywhere! 1 cup of dried watermelon seeds contains more than 30g of proteins, which is 60% higher than the daily recommended value! One of the amino acids found in these proteins is called arginine and is great for regulating blood pressure.

- B-vitamin treasure. We desperately try to get more with supplements or nutritional yeast without knowing these tiny watermelon seeds have got a lot of them! Overall, B-vitamins are good for our nervous system, energy production, glucid & lipid metabolism, hormone synthesis, cell division, red blood cell production… and so much more!

- High in minerals. Especially in magnesium which is an essential for muscle repair and blood pressure: 1 cup of dried seeds provides more than 100 % of the recommended daily intake!

- Go for the good fats! We all heard about these good fats we can find in avocados, oily fish and nuts. Guess what, we can also find them in pumpkin and watermelon seeds! Those monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fatty acids will do wonders for your body, mainly preventing cardiovascular diseases.

So what are you waiting for? 😉
